Greens in Victoria's Legislative Council (Upper House)
Sue Pennicuik will move a motion noting the Senate Committee on Community Affairs report “Commonwealth Contribution to Former Forced Adoption Policies and Practices”, acknowledging that similar practices occurred in Victoria and caused long-term anguish and suffering for the people affected and calling on the Government to apologise on behalf of the Victorian community to the mothers, children and the families who have been affected by past forcible removal practices.
Questions without Notice
The Greens are allocated 3 questions out of 40 in a 4 day rotation, so that means one question 3 days out of 4. In the upcoming sitting week there will be a question from the Greens at 12pm on Wednesday and Thursday.
Members’ Statements
Each member of the Legislative Council is allocated one member's statement each week.
This means that one Greens member will make a member’s statement each day at approximately 3.10pm on Tuesday and 9.40am on Wednesday and Thursday.
