New RBA revelations means Treasurer must act

 

Greens Deputy Leader Adam Bandt MP says new revelations in the Reserve Bank bribery scandal mean the Treasurer must establish a full judicial inquiry into the affair.
 Mr Bandt says allegations, aired on 730, that current Assistant RBA Governor Frank Campbell was aware of payments to a Malaysian arms dealer after he had been sacked by a Reserve Bank subsidiary further reinforce the need for an inquiry.

Bandt Better Work/Life Balance bill debated

 

Greens Deputy Leader Adam Bandt has welcomed the participation of Parliamentarians in a debate of his Better Work / Life balance bill today.
 The Fair Work Amendment (Better Work/Life Balance) Bill will give workers an enforceable right to request flexible working arrangements.
 "If people want to work different hours or work from home so that their life is better, then the law should allow it, provided it doesn't unduly impact on their employer," Mr Bandt said.

 

 

Greens call for Inquiry into alleged training rorts

Greens spokesperson for Education, Sue Pennicuik MLC has given notice of a motion in the state upper house today calling for a parliamentary inquiry into alleged training rorts by private registered training organisations (RTO) in Victoria."There have been many, recent media reports that some private RTOs are providing less-than-adequate qualifications to students so that they are left without the qualification they enrolled for and may be ineligible for further subsidised study," Ms Pennicuik said.
