We are the third force in Australian politics. Almost two million Australians voted for us in the 2010 federal election and support is growing fast!
We are recruiting interns to work alongside the Campaign team and Lead Senate Candidate, Janet Rice in their Melbourne office.

Internships available:
--- Office Administration eg filing, answering phone, greeting visitors, preparing for events.
--- Senate campaign Assistant  eg research upcoming events, calendar coordination, online activities, event coordination
--- Design and communication eg assisting with material design, internal communications, working on specific online campaigns
--- Campaign Organising eg support campaign manager, assist the roll out of creative campaign initiatives, assist with training and workshops 
Your skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to develop and manage projects and events to a successful conclusion;
  • Ability to work as part of a team, exercise initiative, and follow directions;
  • Computer literacy, particularly word processing, internet and email skills.

DATABASE ADMINISTRATION OFFICER
This new short-term position of Database Administration Officer will play a critical role in supporting the online infrastructure of the Australian Greens (AG).

The successful candidate will be a qualified/experienced IT professional with a passion for data integrity, analysis and presentation, highly motivated with energy and initiative, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  In addition they must be able to demonstrate:

  • Qualifications and/or relevant experience in the development and management of MySQL database systems and PHP programming;
  • Excellent time management skills;
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure;
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders;
  • An understanding of Greens principles.

This position is full-time until 18 October 2013 with a salary commensurate with skills and experience.

Ideally the successful applicant will be willing to work from Greens offices in Canberra or Melbourne, but another location may be negotiated for an outstanding applicant.
