The rule of law and access to justice are fundamental to a democratic society. Judicial independence and the separation of powers protect the integrity of government and the law, so that those with and without influence are treated equally.
We need a criminal justice system that is well resourced and is based on respect for the rights of all parties and on the principles of restorative justice. We need a well trained police force to prevent crime and ensure that people are safe.
