Waste is what it sounds like - something best avoided in the first place. Victorians make around 10 million tonnes of it every year and the recycling rate has stagnated at 60%. At this rate, the government will fail yet again to reach its waste diversion targets.
Reduce, Reuse then Recycle – the proven way to save materials, water and energy AND create jobs.
We can make this happen, particularly by making the producer responsible, so we can reduce the amount of waste we generate in the first place.
